About the Role

Northern Trust is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to leverage advanced data analytics skills, including ML, AI, and GenAI, to design data-driven AI solutions for complex business needs. The role involves managing stakeholder relationships, evangelizing data strategy, and contributing to modern architecture principles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with all stakeholders, focusing on setting expectations and maintaining client satisfaction through effective project management and customer service.
  • Evangelize data strategy through design, documentation, review, and cross-team negotiations to support strategic business and technology goals.
  • Display thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principles and technology.
  • Lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Provide architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical pattern.
  • Drive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt and improve architecture efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to capitalize on technology advances by analyzing key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Participate in defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps, ensuring alignment of IT initiatives with the target state.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced Agile team, participating in planning, documentation, execution, testing, and launch of projects.
  • Interface with global teams to collaboratively work on business deliveries.
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of value creation and business capability models for large-scale technology platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
  • Seasoned expert with technical and business knowledge and functional expertise developed over several years.
  • Experience in systems analysis and application program development.
  • Experience with project feasibility, definition requirements, design, and/or project leadership.
  • Experience with various technical programming languages, and phase report studies is required.

Skills

  • Advanced data analytics skills using ML, AI and GenAI
  • Expertise in designing data driven AI solution for complex business needs
  • Investment Management or Asset Management experience recommended
  • Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design, ontology and taxonomy design
  • Intellectual curiosity, inclination for independent and self-directed work, and attention to detail
  • Professional experience driving change, transformation, and process improvement initiatives
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and executive leadership to achieve business outcomes
  • Understanding of data security, cyber-security and PII management
  • Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL data stores, methods and approaches

  • $114,500 - 194,700 USD
