About the Role

Lead, direct, and coordinate the management of Self-Perform Operations (SPO) drywall and general trades projects, overseeing project pursuit, staffing, planning, implementation, budget, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational performance of assigned SPO projects from kick-off to close out.
  • Lead project start up including budget set up, Schedule of Values establishment, and submittal submission.
  • Manage procurement and release of long lead materials to comply with Required On Job dates.
  • Lead weekly project production meetings and collaborate with General Superintendent to improve production.
  • Generate actual production rates from the field and communicate variances to management and estimating teams.
  • Identify change conditions, estimate change orders, and collaborate with project teams to obtain owner approvals.
  • Administer company contract and subcontract agreements.
  • Promote community involvement to build strategic relationships.
  • Foster trusted advisor status with internal teams, architects, owners, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Contribute to master schedule development and update SPO schedules for accuracy.
  • Anticipate and resolve project scheduling issues to maintain a stable and productive crew.
  • Manage budget and financial reporting to ensure adherence to project budget.
  • Manage Quality Control program.
  • Provide leadership for risk evaluation, contract negotiations, and fee and pricing decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with company business ethics and programs.
  • Manage and oversee field operation and engineering processes.
  • Manage labor agreements in Union environments or support recruitment in Non-Union environments.
  • Collaborate with EH&S team to implement project safety protocols.
  • Oversee timely submission of pay applications.
  • Collaborate with Finance team to ensure timely payment of supplier invoices.
  • Review subcontracts, Purchase Orders, and Change Orders for accuracy.
  • Inform management of project and budget progress during Operation Review Meetings.
  • Promote and utilize emerging technologies to support sustainable competitive advantages.
  • Supervise SPO Drywall team, participate in hiring, onboard staff, and deliver performance feedback.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience as a Project Manager for specialty scopes of work.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of interior construction systems including metal framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings, CFMF, and DFHW.
  • Leadership and management skills to supervise teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles.
  • Thorough understanding of project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and project schedules.
  • Ability to identify and resolve project issues such as constructability and trade coordination.
  • Experience in project engineering, field supervision, or purchasing.
  • Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and market conditions.
  • Advanced project management skills to prioritize competing demands.
  • Familiarity with operating procedures of departments like Procurement and Operations.
