About the Role

Responsible for the Group’s capital model, ensuring it reflects the risk profile, meets Solvency II standards, and is used to answer business and risk management questions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop the internal model to reflect the risk profile.
  • Prepare Internal Model Capital Assessments.
  • Utilize the internal model to address business and risk management inquiries.
  • Ensure the capital model complies with Solvency II standards.
  • Develop business understanding to enhance analysis using internal model output.
  • Develop understanding of regulatory approaches for presenting internal model output.
  • Comply with relevant Beazley procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • University degree, post-graduate preferred, in a quantitative or analytical discipline.
  • Part-qualified actuary or willing to undertake actuarial exams; ideally seeking nearly/newly qualified.
  • Proven ability in using databases (familiarity with SQL).
  • Strong modelling skills.
  • Effective communication skills with internal staff and regulators, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • General commercial and financial knowledge.
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize.
  • Strong programming skills with exposure to MS Excel 2007, MS Access 2007, and VBA.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and exposure to using statistical software.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Professional work experience; exposure to the insurance industry is advantageous.
  • Experience in data analysis and research.
