About the Role

The Director HR, Total Rewards is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating Celestica's compensation and benefits programs, with a focus on Global Sales Compensation and the Europe region. This role ensures sales compensation strategies align with financial objectives, drive growth, and remain competitive, while advising leadership on global sales incentive trends and benchmarking to attract and retain top talent. The Director also partners with senior leadership to ensure rewards programs support business objectives in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the strategic design, implementation and administration of global Sales Incentive programs for approximately 240 sales and sales support employees.
  • Collaborates with HR Executives and Sales Leaders to review and update Sales Incentive plans.
  • Partners with Sales Leaders, Sales Operations and Finance to complete annual quota setting and communicate annual sales incentive plans.
  • Leads global Sales Incentive Committee meetings, managing governance and approvals for quarterly sales achievement, plan exceptions, incentive payments, and plan design changes.
  • Ensures completion of all actions from Sales Incentive Meetings.
  • Audits payroll submissions and oversees results and payment communications with Sales Participants and Managers.
  • Oversees Sales Incentive accruals and reporting.
  • Leads annual Sales Compensation external benchmarking, including survey participation, results analysis, and recommending updates to internal salary ranges and incentive targets.
  • Oversees validation of year-end sales achievements, calculations, and approval of final incentive payments for the Hybrid Incentive plan.
  • Manages Sales inputs for the annual merit compensation planning process and ensures accuracy of compensation statements for sales participants.
  • Reviews and approves compensation recommendations for global senior sales hires and director-level promotions.
  • Drives the strategic development, design, implementation, communication, maintenance, and compliance of compensation programs for Europe, impacting approximately 2,200 employees.
  • Collaborates with HRBPs, legal, and finance to analyze implications of Total Rewards initiatives and align with broader business strategies.
  • Evaluates market data and provides consultation on new hire offers, retention bonuses, and promotion recommendations for Europe.
  • Performs compensation-related M&A or organization change work, including due diligence, retention, and integration for the Europe region.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of government legislation, market trends, and economic indicators affecting compensation policies.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with leaders and managers to ensure compensation structure supports strategic objectives.
  • Educates leaders, managers, and employees on the company’s Total Rewards philosophy, processes, and programs.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to members of the Global Rewards team, including Compensation & Benefits Managers and Analysts.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to design, implement, and roll out comprehensive rewards programs in a highly-matrixed and fast-paced organization.
  • Deep expertise in Sales Incentive design and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Europe regional pay and benefits regulations and market trends.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills for navigating compensation situations and executive-level discussions.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments.
  • Candidates must be currently authorized to work on a full-time basis in the United States or Canada.

Experience Level

  • Twelve plus years of relevant experience in global compensation and benefits, with a strong focus on sales incentives.
  • Five plus years of experience in a senior leadership or director-level role within a multinational organization.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • MBA or professional certification (CPA) is highly preferred.
