About the Role
The Senior Chief Engineer is responsible for the operational management and effective daily leadership of the engineering team, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of building machinery and systems. This role aims to maintain the highest level of professionalism, meet client needs, and achieve 100% uptime. The Senior Chief Engineer protects and improves client asset value, implements reliability-based maintenance, and enhances performance through continuous evaluation of maintenance methods.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning equipment, boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, and other mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Review logs and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies by preparing purchase orders and developing sources for stock materials.
- Perform periodic inventory and equipment condition checks.
- Oversee activities of contractors working within the building.
- Supervise engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and personal development.
- Identify safety hazards and implement remediation solutions.
- Administer safety training programs and ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines.
- Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation, including up-to-date building drawings, single-lines, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Provide training and support to expand operations staff capabilities through hands-on instruction in maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure Critical Facility Work Authorization (CFWA) processes are well-understood among building staff, engineers, tenants, and contractors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of facility-related work experience including customer service, leadership, and supervisory experience.
- Proven managerial experience with demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes and construction planning/execution.
- Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- 104,000.00 – 130,000.00 USD per year
