About the Role

Medtronic is a global leader in healthcare technology seeking a committed professional to support Neuromodulation Pain and Target Drug Delivery Therapies. This field-based, remote position requires residing within the territory and driving to multiple accounts, with a valid driver's license essential. The role involves surgical coverage, follow-up support, troubleshooting, customer service, education, and basic market development.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Medtronic during surgical procedures, ensuring equipment availability, providing technical support, and performing device programming and testing.
  • Manages patients through all clinical process phases and educates them on product features and benefits.
  • Provides clinical support in surgeries, re-programmings, troubleshooting, and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics.
  • Responds promptly to technical inquiries from customers, patients, and colleagues.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of competitive products.
  • Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel, and staff on products and therapies through various teaching sessions and programs.
  • Assists Management and Sales Training in educating new employees.
  • Complies with required event reporting and documentation using Medtronic technology tools.
  • Places orders with customer service for pending purchase orders and product replacement.
  • Works with materials management to collect POs for cases covered within the territory/district.
  • Manages inventory for case coverage, including timely transactions, cycle count accuracy, product retrievals, and ensuring product is not expired or on hold.
  • Contributes to achieving quarterly goals for specific initiatives.
  • Partners with sales representatives to achieve business goals and documents quarterly activities.
  • Visits accounts to replenish literature and maintains relationships with office staff.
  • Utilizes Excel, mobile phone, iPad, laptop, and/or Samsung tablet regularly.
  • Manages business expenses and budget effectively.
  • Ensures personal understanding of all applicable quality policy/system items.
  • Completes all new hire therapy and corporate compliance trainings.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with schedule, potentially working outside normal business hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Travels to cover district cases as needed, and occasionally other districts.
  • Functions using healthcare universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation.
  • Serves as the primary resource for clinical events, periodically working weekends, evenings, and nights, potentially requiring overnight travel.
  • Works efficiently and autonomously with little direction when outside of clinical events.
  • Attends national meetings, district meetings, and other requested training.
  • Wears a 7-9 lbs protective lead apron for extended periods in the operating room.
  • Lifts up to 40 lbs.
  • Sits, stands, and/or walks for 8+ hours per day.
  • Bends/stoops, squats, and balances frequently.
  • Utilizes specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED with a minimum 4 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or
  • An Associate’s Degree with a minimum 2 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
  • Driving record will be reviewed and considered.
  • Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within assigned territory.
  • May require overnight travel.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
