About the Role

Q2 is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a Software Delivery team, responsible for platforms, automation, and insights that enable software delivery across the engineering organization. This role involves leading a team of full-stack engineers focused on advancing release orchestration, release intelligence, and engineering workflow automation, partnering closely with Product, Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Development teams to enhance software planning, coordination, and delivery at an enterprise scale. This is an opportunity to shape the future of Software Delivery at Q2 by leading a team that builds essential tools for engineers and influences the evolution of software delivery on a leading fintech platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, including hiring, coaching, and career development.
  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery of Q2's Software Delivery platforms.
  • Define strategic direction and prioritize investments to improve software delivery across the organization.
  • Partner across departments to coordinate dependencies, remove delivery roadblocks, manage risk, and drive alignment.
  • Ensure reliable execution of client software updates through automation and operational excellence.
  • Build and evolve scalable systems for actionable release intelligence and operational visibility.
  • Lead the evolution of software delivery practices through progressive delivery and engineering self-service.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 6 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing engineering teams.
  • Deep systems thinking to design and reason about complex, interconnected platforms and tooling.
  • Track record translating complexity into clear technical direction and measurable outcomes.
  • Product thinking: balances technical excellence with business impact.
  • Experience building or operating software delivery platforms, release orchestration, or developer self-service tooling preferred.
  • Enterprise-scale deployment and system reliability experience preferred.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
  • Fluent written and oral communication in English.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
