About the Role

SailPoint is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to support critical internal infrastructure and applications. This professional-level position requires strong execution and analytical abilities, with interaction across various IT groups. The role involves designing and implementing cloud solutions in a multi-cloud environment, ensuring they meet or exceed business requirements while adhering to IT standards for complexity, compliance, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, deploy, operate, and support cloud-based infrastructure and solutions in Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Automate resource provisioning, operational activities, tasks, and changes using scripting languages and tools (Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.).
  • Maintain the ongoing security and availability of applications based on business requirements.
  • Provide assistance to cloud servers (Win/Linux), including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Continuously improve operations through monitoring and performance metrics.
  • Create documentation for environment changes and new technologies.
  • Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to implement new technologies or system/infrastructure changes to improve performance, high availability, scalability, reliability, and resiliency.
  • Ensure architectural consistency and provide technical direction through roadmap process, knowledge management, disaster recovery plan development, and testing.
  • Build sophisticated solutions using hybrid cloud computing, networking, and storage technologies.
  • Participate in incident and problem management.
  • Participate in operational support escalations and project executions.
  • Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with other Business Units.
  • Support ISO and SOC compliance.
  • Implement change requests and meet project deliverables within defined guidelines.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years experienced Cloud Engineer in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Practical experience in operating and managing Cloud platforms.
  • At least 2 CSP professional certifications as Solutions Architect, Infrastructure Administrator and/or similar.
  • Two or more years scripting/automation experience using Terraform, Jenkins, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc. to develop AWS, GCP, or Azure environments as code.
  • Three or more years of experience working as a Systems Administrator.
  • Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers, and databases.
  • Strong analytic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation).
  • Strong ability to self-learn new technologies.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with project deadlines.
