About the Role

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Core Tax Services team in Austin. The role involves managing client tax compliance, anticipating tax issues, identifying planning opportunities, and serving as the main client contact. The position also includes training and developing junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage client tax compliance needs.
• Anticipate tax and business issues.
• Recognize tax planning opportunities.
• Serve as the main point of contact with the client.
• Manage workflows, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Manage client communications.
• Train and develop less experienced professional staff.
• Solve problems for clients in industries such as real estate, professional services, and high net worth individuals.
• Manage engagements and provide knowledgeable review of complex returns.
• Leverage project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
• Lead Tax Staff and Seniors in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrate superior client service skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master's preferred.
• Must be CPA certified with an active CPA license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience.
• Strong background and understanding of pass through entity structures.
• General understanding of corporate taxation.
• General understanding of partnership taxation, particularly with respect to partnership equity investments.
• Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
• Cherry Bekaert will not provide work sponsorship for this position.
