About the Role

BeyondTrust is seeking a Software Development Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of core platform services that support multiple product lines. As part of the Platform Core Services team, you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and reliable services, including authentication & authorization (AuthN/AuthZ), onboarding, RBAC, reporting, auditing, notifications, and platform APIs. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to grow their expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence while working in a high-impact, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

Implement and enhance high-quality, scalable microservices that support platform-wide capabilities, ensuring modularity and extensibility.
Work with senior engineers and product managers to translate requirements into well-structured, maintainable, and testable software solutions.
Contribute to logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using Datadog to ensure visibility and proactive issue resolution.
Assist in automating cloud infrastructure management using Terraform, Terragrunt, and CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in code reviews, advocate for engineering best practices, and contribute to documentation to ensure team-wide knowledge sharing.
Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues, participate in incident response, and propose solutions for long-term stability and scalability.
Work with product managers, designers, and engineers from other teams to deliver features and platform enhancements that meet business and customer needs.

Requirements

Experience in software development and delivering cloud-based or distributed systems with an emphasis on scalability and security.
Experience with one or more of C#, Go, Java, Python, or similar languages.
Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including cloud-native development principles.
Basic knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD), and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus) and how they support system health.
Ability to debug, analyze issues, and propose well-structured solutions.
Comfortable working with other engineers, product teams, and stakeholders in a cross-functional, agile environment.
A proactive problem solver who enjoys taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through completion.
A team player who values open collaboration and constructive feedback.
Someone who continuously learns and adapts, eager to expand their technical expertise.
