About the Role

Make the Road States seeks a Financial Analyst responsible for timely and thorough billing and analysis of Foundation, City, State, and Federal agency funding and contracts. This role supports a rapidly growing organization and requires flexibility, a positive attitude, impeccable time management, rigorous attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare invoices and vouchers for contracts per respective agencies’ policies and procedures and submit to agency on time.
• Pull and maintain backup documentation and analysis to support invoices and vouchers.
• Work closely with other members of the finance department and department directors to develop budgets and budget modifications.
• Ensure compliance with all government regulations, including A-122 related items (i.e., unallowable costs, administrative and clerical charges, Timesheet/Program Activity Reporting).
• Help maintain and track staffing allocations for government grants.
• Assist with individual funder and annual agency fiscal audits.
• Perform other analysis, projects, and administrative functions as required by supervisor.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the US.
• High level of accountability and initiative; must be a self-starter and highly motivated to produce excellent results under minimum supervision.
• Must be analytical with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive materials.
• Highly analytical and able to make independent decisions based on data and facts.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct and Abila MIP.
• Possess a commitment to collective action and community organizing.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
