About the Role
This role is essential to keeping our expansive space running smoothly, playing a key backend role in setting up and breaking down campus events while keeping our main food hall clean, organized, and inviting for guests. This position offers a higher base rate plus a share of the service charge tip pool.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and arrange tables, chairs, staging, and event equipment according to setup diagrams for campus meetings, workshops, and private events.
- Efficiently break down event setups post-function, returning gear to proper storage areas.
- Clear and sanitize tables across our diverse dining areas and outdoor patio to maintain rapid seating turnover.
- Transport bus tubs back to the dish pit safely and efficiently.
- Keep tray stations, utensil setups, and common guest areas fully stocked and spotless.
- Assist guests with basic directions around the market hall with a welcoming attitude.
Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and safely handle up to 40–50 lbs (tables, chairs, and bus tubs) throughout the day.
- Reliable and proactive, taking pride in keeping a high-end space looking great and showing up on time for scheduled setups.
- Team-oriented, willing to jump in wherever needed to support the floor team, kitchen staff, and event planners.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work varying shifts, including early mornings or evenings aligned with event schedules.
- Valid California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
