About the Role
eBay seeks a Software Engineer 3 to develop a new, user-friendly eBay event recommendation system. This system will enable non-technical personnel to easily deploy new event recommendation algorithms. The role also involves spearheading the architectural strategy and optimization of eBay’s training data application, Simplex, and overseeing data quality validation.
Responsibilities
- Develop a new, user-friendly eBay event recommendation system.
- Enable non-technical personnel to easily deploy new event recommendation algorithms.
- Spearhead the architectural strategy and optimization of eBay’s training data application, Simplex.
- Oversee the data quality validation using eBay’s internal file systems and query portals.
- Maintain the eBay recommendation algorithm testing tool.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Skills
- Object-oriented and functional programming languages: Java, Scala, and JavaScript (2 years)
- SQL Database (MySQL or Oracle) and NoSQL Databases (MongoDB or HBase)
- Designing and implementing efficient and practical solutions in Java and Scala (2 years)
- Data processing framework/system: Spark, Flink, and Akka (1 year)
- Microservices architecture
- Test-driven development with CI/CD pipelines
- Translating new feature requests with design options and providing estimations
- Identifying issues in design and code and proposing solutions to drive resolution

- $103,210.00-162,300.00 per annum
