About the Role

The Manager, Editorial Newsletters is responsible for running newsletter production across the A+E portfolio of sites, including History.com, A&E, and Lifetime. This role serves as the company's expert in developing effective and engaged newsletter audiences, contributing to both long-term strategies and daily execution. The position involves collaborating with editorial teams to create engaging newsletters for A+E fans while adhering to industry standards. This role is part of the Digital Media team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage newsletter production strategies and processes for timely and effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with content teams to curate newsletters aligning with content priorities, brand guidelines, and best practices.
  • Monitor newsletter performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Communicate performance and insights regularly to broader teams.
  • Collaborate with design to manage template modules and create/edit responsive HTML/CSS email templates.
  • Oversee push notification production.
  • Manage external agencies and vendors.
  • Lead the execution of a new email personalization plan to improve subscriber engagement.
  • Identify and recommend innovations and growth opportunities for the email program.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing editorial newsletters.
  • Knowledge of key email newsletters fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Iterable and other newsletter platforms.
  • Understanding of Content Management Systems and Digital Editorial production.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML & CSS as applied to email, including troubleshooting rendering issues.
  • Data-driven approach and championing data in decision-making.
  • Understanding of operational workflows for newsletter production and identifying efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working across various brands with unique editorial guidelines.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Airtable, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
