About the Role
The Area Leasing Manager serves as the single point of accountability for portfolio leasing performance, leading both centralized Global Prospect Care and Onsite Leasing/Sales Associates. This role owns the full lead-to-lease funnel and is responsible for hiring, staffing, training, coaching, and managing the performance of the leasing organization to achieve leasing, occupancy, and customer experience goals. This leader partners closely with Operations, Marketing, Revenue Management, and onsite leadership to develop sales strategies, optimize conversion performance, and build a scalable leasing model.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of Global Prospect Care Associates and Onsite Leasing/Sales Associates.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, schedule, coach, and develop team members.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development planning.
- Create staffing plans and schedules that ensure appropriate coverage.
- Manage performance accountability, corrective action, and performance improvement plans.
- Foster a culture of sales excellence, customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Own and drive performance of the entire lead-to-lease funnel across the portfolio.
- Establish and maintain accountability for key leasing and conversion metrics.
- Monitor daily sales activity and conversion performance across all communities.
- Identify performance gaps and implement strategies to improve conversion and leasing outcomes.
- Develop and execute sales coaching programs to improve leasing effectiveness and closing performance.
- Ensure consistent execution of leasing best practices across all communities.
- Ensure prospects receive timely, accurate, and professional communication aligned with customer experience standards.
- Oversee prospect escalations and service recovery efforts.
- Monitor call quality, communication standards, and customer interactions across all channels.
- Ensure seamless handoff and collaboration between Global Prospect Care Associates and Onsite Leasing/Sales Associates.
- Maintain service standards aligned with customer experience expectations.
- Develop and facilitate onboarding programs and ongoing sales training for all leasing team members.
- Conduct ongoing sales training, role-playing, call reviews, and coaching sessions.
- Ensure team members maintain proficiency in sales techniques, leasing systems, policies, and customer service standards.
- Identify skill gaps and implement targeted development plans.
- Partner with Learning & Development to create and maintain leasing training content and resources.
- Partner with Operations, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Asset Management to drive leasing performance and portfolio growth.
- Analyze portfolio performance trends, staffing needs, and conversion metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on leasing and conversion performance across the portfolio.
- Support implementation of centralized leasing initiatives, technology enhancements, AI solutions, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing requirements, company policies, and operational standards.
- Present performance updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree in Business, Real Estate, Communication, or related field required.
- 3-4 Years of experience in leadership managing sales, leasing, or customer-facing teams.
- Experience leading staffing, scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management functions.
- 5-7 Years of experience in multifamily leasing, sales, customer experience, or property operations.
- Proven track record of driving sales, leasing, or conversion performance.
- Strong knowledge of multifamily leasing operations and customer acquisition strategies.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- 8-10 Years of relative work experience could offset minimum educational requirements.

Education Level

- Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) preferred
- National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) preferred
- Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) preferred
Salary/Compensations
- $ 92,500 - 129,465 annually - San Francisco
- $ 83,900 - 117,495 annually - Los Angeles & Seattle
