About the Role

Wolters Kluwer is seeking an experienced IT Security Manager to join the Customer Trust & Assurance team. This role will serve as a security partner to sales and business development, lead customer engagement on security, privacy, and compliance, and translate technical posture into credible narratives to build confidence and enable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Scale and build upon existing programs including the customer trust center, providing customers with self-service access to relevant security, privacy and compliance information.
  • Act as a trusted technical and security advisor, engaging customer security teams and IT leaders to align on their cybersecurity & Business needs.
  • Serve as internal subject matter expert on security for the GTM team, supporting sales and account managers in client facing discussions and presentations.
  • Oversee and guide various internal teams to address customers' security, compliance, and privacy needs, including leading the handling of questionnaires, audits, and calls with customers and prospects.
  • Represent the company externally in security and technology conversations, shaping best practices and positioning our solutions as industry-leading.
  • Bridge the gap between technical value and business outcomes, aligning security messaging with sales and marketing strategies to drive adoption of our products.
  • Work closely with the engineering, legal, risk, cyber, and compliance teams to ensure our security responses are accurate and reflect our latest technical and regulatory standing.
  • Maintain and update a knowledge base of our security posture, including security policies, certifications (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001), and compliance documentation.
  • Identify trends in customer security inquiries to help improve our documentation and proactive communication strategies.
  • Support third-party risk and due diligence processes, helping customers efficiently evaluate our security posture.
  • Provide insights on emerging cybersecurity trends and customer expectations to contribute to the product roadmap.
  • Develop and standardize security sales playbooks, equipping sales teams with messaging, objection handling, and case studies.
  • Attain subject matter expert (SME)-level knowledge of the features and functionalities of Wolters Kluwer products and infrastructure.
  • Lead the education and training of the sales organization on Wolters Kluwer’s security, compliance, and privacy posture.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in developing their expertise.
  • Lead the review of security clauses in contracts and provide expert advice on Wolters Kluwer’s security, compliance, and privacy measures.
  • Take a leadership role in supporting customer compliance audits by providing necessary documentation, evidence, answering auditor questions, and ensuring that all security, compliance, and privacy measures are thoroughly documented and adhered to.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information security, management information systems or similar.
  • At least 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity or information security, with broad, horizontal exposure across multiple security domains.
  • Experience in customer facing roles (minimum 5 years) acting as a trusted advisor to senior security, IT, or business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection, privacy, and compliance, including hands on familiarity with areas such as access control, encryption, network security, identity and access management, and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of major security and regulatory frameworks including NIST CSF, NIST 800 53, SOC 2, ISO 27001, DORA, GDPR, and related risk assessment and internal control methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success supporting and leading internal and external audits and certifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear, concise, and professional messaging for both technical and non technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships with cross functional teams, senior leadership, customers, regulators, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Strong cross functional mindset with experience working closely with engineering, legal, compliance, risk, and sales teams.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business objectives.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, meet deadlines, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading or contributing to security, compliance, or trust related programs, with solid project and program management skills to plan, prioritize, and execute initiatives effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing scalable Customer Trust Programs.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AIGP, AAISM, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud services and cloud technologies (e.g. AWS and Microsoft Azure).
