About the Role

AECOM Advisory integrates management consultancy with infrastructure and industry expertise to anticipate change and drive action that delivers a better world. Our Industrial Advisory team acts as both a standalone business and supports AECOM projects globally, applying Lean thinking, process optimisation, and industrial engineering expertise to deliver measurable improvements in performance across various sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-value consultancy projects, contributing to both technical excellence and commercial success.
  • Contribute to the development of our Process Optimisation capability.
  • Operate effectively at their respective level, contributing to delivery, client engagement and the ongoing development of our Industrial Advisory capability.
  • Operate with increasing levels of autonomy, accountability and client responsibility in line with their grade.
  • Contribute to projects, applying structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Manage defined workstreams within projects, with appropriate guidance where required.
  • Apply foundational proficiency in Industrial Advisory, Lean or process improvement methods.
  • Contribute to operational, engineering or process improvement initiatives.
  • Apply technical knowledge under guidance, building depth and specialisation.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and develop early client exposure.
  • Independently manage medium-complexity projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Deliver measurable outcomes in process optimisation or industrial environments.
  • Apply strong industry knowledge and technical capability to solve complex problems.
  • Be accountable for significant workstreams or project components.
  • Build and manage client relationships, understanding client needs and challenges.
  • Proactively identify improvements and contribute to innovation.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support to junior team members.
  • Lead complex, high-impact initiatives with responsibility for delivery outcomes.
  • Apply advanced expertise to solve complex, ambiguous challenges and improve methodologies.
  • Be accountable for project or process outcomes, including client impact.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, exercising judgement beyond established approaches.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and shape client strategies and solutions.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in work winning, client development and business growth.
  • Play a key role in capability development, thought leadership and market positioning.
  • Support the development of value propositions for process optimisation, manufacturing and industrial advisory services.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma and industrial engineering techniques to analyse and improve client operations.
  • Develop data-driven insights and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions.
  • Deliver projects and workstreams to agreed quality, cost and schedule.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice methods and standards.
  • Support capability development through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Process mapping, analysis and optimisation.
  • Production systems, facility design or industrial operations.
  • Data analysis and performance improvement.
  • Project delivery and workstream management.
  • Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
  • Automation, robotics or manufacturing systems integration (Desirable).
  • Digital manufacturing, simulation or data analytics tools (Desirable).
  • Experience applying Lean principles in non-manufacturing environments (Desirable).
