About the Role

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to contribute immediately to active projects. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is comfortable taking ownership of design tasks, working across multiple projects, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key part in the execution of ongoing projects, contributing to both technical design and overall project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects
  • Take ownership of design tasks across multiple active projects
  • Prepare detailed calculations, reports, and construction documents
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to move projects forward efficiently
  • Apply engineering judgment to meet project timelines and client expectations
  • Support and mentor early-career engineers
  • Participate in site visits, field coordination, and client interactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • At least 3 years of structural design experience
  • Ability to contribute with minimal ramp-up
  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong understanding of real-world project delivery
  • EIT required; PE in progress or recently obtained preferred
  • Proficiency in structural analysis/design software
  • Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer-based work for prolonged periods during analysis, drafting, and documentation efforts
  • Occasional field visits to construction sites requiring mobility and navigation of uneven terrain
  • Light lifting of equipment or materials up to approximately 15 pounds
