About the Role

We are seeking a Field Superintendent to support the construction of challenging and exciting projects in the Southwest, including commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and water/wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves leading dynamic teams and driving excellence in construction.

Responsibilities

  • Emphasize a culture of exceptional safety and best-in-class quality to all foremen and craft, including associated trade partners.
  • Support and develop Foremen, fostering a positive environment for craft and trade partners.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Field Engineer regarding survey and layout needs, including a schedule for when such work is required.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent with project schedule development and maintenance, including pull plans, look-ahead schedules, and implementation of the Last Planner System.
  • Prepare work plans for critical work and facilitate detailed reviews with the Field Engineer and Foreman.
  • Understand budgeted values for labor, equipment, and consumables; collaboratively plan work with Foremen for commercial success.
  • Ensure efficient crew sizing and makeup is always present and adjust when necessary.
  • Ensure Foremen promptly and accurately complete all necessary reports and documentation for their crews (timesheets, daily reports, safety/quality forms, employee evals etc.).
  • Lead coordination and support for all QC processes for their specific scope or assigned project.
  • Actively participate in daily and weekly project meetings.
  • Promptly report field issues to the Field Engineer and Project Superintendent.
  • Assist the Field Engineer with the development of lift drawings.
  • Develop rapport with owners, clients, engineers, and trade partners while ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Plan and safely execute Hazardous energy control, T&E, Working at Heights, and confined space procedures.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of construction and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
  • Ability to multi-task, collaborate with others, set priorities, and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated success supporting a team through complex project execution.
  • Experience leading project teams and holding them accountable to project goals.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • STSC trained.
  • Positive and teachable attitude.
  • This is a safety sensitive position, and all applicable policies including drug test and background check will apply.
  • Potentially lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Potentially need to do repeated pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching (or working above shoulder), walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing.
  • Potentially operate a motor vehicle, crane, tractor, etc.

Skills

  • Primavera P6 scheduling software proficiency is a huge plus.
