About the Role
The Investor Relations Associate will facilitate venture capital funding by connecting portfolio founders to investors. This role involves executing key Investor Relations programs, assisting startups with fundraising, onboarding new investors, and launching new initiatives. You will leverage Capital Factory’s network and software to curate investor-founder matches, gaining significant venture capital experience.
Responsibilities
- Make valuable introductions between founders and investors when there is mutual interest.
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact for investors, building long-term relationships.
- Share relevant startups, events, and opportunities with investors and track their engagement.
- Organize office hours, in-person and virtual, for investors to meet with portfolio founders.
- Network with venture capitalists and angel investors to establish deal flow relationships.
- Attend events with investors and introduce new portfolio companies.
- Conduct calls and meetings with investors to understand their investment thesis and identify suitable company introductions.
- Make over a dozen curated introductions between investors and portfolio founders daily.
- Attend weekly Ventures Team Sync, Investor Relations Sync, and other relevant meetings.
- Attend monthly First Look events.
Requirements
- Experience with the startup and technology markets.
- Basic understanding of startup funding terms, options, and mechanisms.
- Ability to use data to understand problems and make connections.
- Organized and plans ahead, but adaptable to last-minute changes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strict attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work on time in a dynamic environment under time pressure.
- Able to work at least 45 hours per week.
- Commitment to staying in Texas and fully committing to the position for 2+ years.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and presentable demeanor, capable of interacting with diverse individuals.
- Reliable transportation.
- Access to a quiet place with fast internet for remote work.
- Possession of a reliable laptop computer and smartphone.
- Security awareness, including passcodes on devices and use of a password manager.
- Availability during SXSW and Startup Week.
- Ability to achieve Inbox Zero daily.
