About the Role

This role is for an individual who can manage construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The focus is on building high-quality office spaces for employees, prioritizing their work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own construction projects end to end, including office buildouts, renovations, and fit-outs.
  • Define project scope and build the business case by partnering with internal stakeholders.
  • Drive the procurement and RFP process, including selecting consultants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Oversee the design process, coordinating stakeholders and vendors to resolve scope gaps.
  • Build and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking the critical path and driving corrective actions.
  • Manage project budgets, track spend, control costs, and process change orders and invoices.
  • Manage contracts and external approvals, including navigating the permitting process.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify work, and ensure compliance with codes and safety requirements.
  • Own project closeout and reporting, including managing punch lists, documentation, and handover.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships for seamless project integration and coordinate people moves.
  • Coach other PMs and develop SOPs and repeatable processes for projects.

Requirements

  • At least 10+ years of construction project management experience, ideally delivering commercial office interiors or similar fit-out projects.
  • A problem solver mentality focused on solutions that span technical and organizational boundaries.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale construction projects on schedule while coordinating multiple external vendors and trades.
  • Hands-on experience managing general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Understanding of leases and ability to help negotiate for design and construction.
  • Working knowledge of construction means and methods, building systems, permitting, and inspection processes.
  • Strong command of project management fundamentals—scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex ideas with precision and clarity to any audience.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to project sites in other US cities.
  • Willingness to provide support for supervision of critical tasks during after hours or weekend work, as needed.
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Procore, or similar.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on and lead a team, encouraging team building, giving constructive feedback and taking recommendations.
  • Able to self-manage with strong initiative.
  • Desire to introduce new practices, processes, or technologies that raise effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to think beyond project completion to long-term performance.
  • Understanding that details matter for employee experience and workplace function.
