About the Role
We are seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer with strong expertise in Figma to shape intuitive, modern digital experiences for a federal agency, transforming complex financial workflows into clean, user-friendly applications. Working hand-in-hand with our Power Platform Developer, you will translate user needs into thoughtful designs, wireframe, and interactive prototypes that guide how agency staff interact with critical financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Researching user needs and translating them into clear user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups that make complex tasks simple and intuitive.
- Designing and maintaining interactive prototypes and reusable design systems in Figma to visualize how applications look, feel, and function before they are built.
- Partnering closely with the Power Platform Developer to bring designs to life in Power Apps and Power Pages, ensuring the final product stays true to the intended experience within platform capabilities.
- Applying modern design principles and federal accessibility standards so that every interface is usable, consistent, and compliant across the agency's applications.
Requirements
- US Citizenship required (dual citizens are ineligible)
- Public Trust background investigation required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- 8+ years of professional experience in UX/UI or product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating modern, user-centered digital products
- Expert proficiency in Figma for wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and design systems
- Experience designing for Microsoft Power Platform solutions (Power Apps and/or Power Pages), including an understanding of the platform's design constraints and capabilities
- Clear experience delivering design work within a federal agency environment
- Solid understanding of user research methods, usability testing, and translating findings into design decisions
- Experience working within standard Scrum or Kanban teams to deliver regular design and software updates.
- Direct experience with federal financial services systems or financial transaction workflows.
- Working knowledge of Section 508 / WCAG accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with front-end fundamentals (HTML/CSS) to collaborate effectively with developers.
- UX design certifications (e.g., Nielsen Norman Group) or Agile Scrum credentials.
