About the Role
Provide medical services to assigned clients in an OTP Methadone Clinic, including performing medical procedures, conducting physical examinations, modifying methadone dosages, and maintaining comprehensive medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical procedures and provide regular medical services for assigned clients.
- Conduct physical examinations and make appropriate referrals.
- Modify prescribed methadone dosage take-home schedule with recommendations to the Medical Doctor.
- Perform follow-up evaluations for clients after admission.
- Maintain medical documentation, including histories, medications, diagnoses, referrals, lab results, and psychosocial information.
- Perform or supervise blood testing and review results.
- Address clinical and medical issues during client care.
- Make recommendations for changing pick-up schedules.
- Maintain good working relationships with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Attend mandatory in-service annually.
- Participate in committees and meetings as requested.
- Attend seminars for professional development.
Requirements
- Current Physician Assistant License in the State of New York issued by the Bureau of Licensing – NYS DOE.
- Maintain current certification.
- DEA License.
- CPR/BLS/AED certification.
- Infection Control certification.
- Mandated Reporter certification.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
