About the Role

Provide medical services to assigned clients in an OTP Methadone Clinic, including performing medical procedures, conducting physical examinations, modifying methadone dosages, and maintaining comprehensive medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical procedures and provide regular medical services for assigned clients.
• Conduct physical examinations and make appropriate referrals.
• Modify prescribed methadone dosage take-home schedule with recommendations to the Medical Doctor.
• Perform follow-up evaluations for clients after admission.
• Maintain medical documentation, including histories, medications, diagnoses, referrals, lab results, and psychosocial information.
• Perform or supervise blood testing and review results.
• Address clinical and medical issues during client care.
• Make recommendations for changing pick-up schedules.
• Maintain good working relationships with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Attend mandatory in-service annually.
• Participate in committees and meetings as requested.
• Attend seminars for professional development.

Requirements

• Current Physician Assistant License in the State of New York issued by the Bureau of Licensing – NYS DOE.
• Maintain current certification.
• DEA License.
• CPR/BLS/AED certification.
• Infection Control certification.
• Mandated Reporter certification.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
