About the Role

The Food Service Worker position will be located at a higher education setting. The food server performs a variety of job responsibilities relating to preparing and serving food in accordance with the daily menu and recipe standards, and engaging students, teachers and parents in Genuine Foods’ mission. There are opportunities to learn culinary skills to advance your career. We are a supportive team that values and respects each other. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students and educators and has a superior customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

Make menu items pursuant to recipes.
Prepare raw foodstuffs to get ready for final cooking.
Follow the lead of the Culinary Lead at all times.
Coordinate with the kitchen team at all times.
Cook and assemble all menu items pursuant to specifications.
Stock and organize the kitchen area.
Clean and maintain cooking utensils.
Interact with scholars and teachers as needed to provide excellent service.
Maintain clean service areas.
Perform any other duties assigned.
Alert Culinary Lead of any workplace problems.

Requirements

Must be flexible & team-oriented!
1-3 years of food or customer service experience/training in a mid-high volume food service facility or restaurant.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
Interest in and committed to Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.
Must be able to work in a school environment.
