About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our platform team. You will bring relevant SRE experience to help us accelerate our operational excellence across the business.

Responsibilities

• Join our platform engineering team and work closely with your engineering manager, technical product manager, and other engineers to evolve our internal systems and platforms.
• Own the technologies that power our engineering, impacting delivery performance, developer experience, reliability, and the end-to-end customer experience.
• Participate in the design and implementation of technical solutions for Dovetail’s platform, including infrastructure, application foundations, developer tooling, CI/CD, and observability.
• Promote operational practices within our platform and product teams with an SRE mindset to support reliability and performance.
• Work with others to continually improve our software practices through code review, pair programming, design sparring, and career growth.
• Maintain and foster a pragmatic approach to software development while establishing detailed guidelines and standards for product development processes.

Requirements

• Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, GraphQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS, containerization (EKS or ECS), serverless technologies, developer tooling, and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi and Terraform).
• Ability to learn quickly and understand relevant concepts.
• Strong ownership of platform reliability, performance, and security for high growth platforms.
• High standards for test and release hygiene, and operational practices.
• Ability to play a significant role in the delivery of complex features, understand requirements, and drive quality.
• Comfort with ambiguity, high independence, resourcefulness in problem-solving, and ability to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals.
• A keen eye for quality, ensuring work is top-notch and scope is cut before quality.
• Excellent, concise communication skills, with the ability to convey thoughts, opinions, and feelings, and articulate effort vs. impact tradeoffs.
• 5 years+ of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in SRE, DevOps, or equivalent teams.
• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and operational best practices.
• Candidates are expected to be embedding AI into their day-to-day work, using it thoughtfully and pragmatically.
