About the Role
eBay, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer 3 in Austin, TX to conduct thorough reconciliations, verify financial data integrity, and prepare comprehensive reports. This role involves assessing variances, documenting findings, and collaborating with stakeholders to refine reconciliation processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy and alignment with company records.
- Verify the integrity of financial data and confirm accurate recording in systems.
- Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations with in-depth account analyses.
- Assess variances, provide detailed explanations for discrepancies, and ensure clarity for stakeholders.
- Utilize internal tools and processes to investigate discrepancies.
- Cross-reference data with multiple sources and collaborate with other teams to resolve issues.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing reconciliation findings and providing insightful analysis.
- Document findings and evidence related to variance resolution, maintaining accurate records.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate reconciliation issues and devise solutions.
- Evaluate and improve existing reconciliation processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive initiatives to refine workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and adopt automation tools.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
