About the Role

The Cage Floor Manager is responsible for training, directing, and managing Cage Cashiers and Main Bankers, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining the security of company assets. This role involves managing team members, directing daily operations, and exercising independent judgment in staffing, scheduling, and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Train, direct, and manage all Cage Cashiers and Main Bankers.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is maintained by all employees.
  • Develop training programs to improve customer service and cashier skills.
  • Ensure the security of company assets according to casino policies and procedures.
  • Follow and uphold all New York State Gaming Commission regulations, RWNYC Internal Controls and RWNYC Operating Procedures.
  • Manage team members and direct daily operations.
  • Exercise independent judgment in staffing, scheduling, performance management, and enforcement of company policies.
  • Serve as a representative of management, spending the majority of time on supervisory and decision-making responsibilities.
  • Provide input into hiring, discipline, and other employment actions that are given significant weight.
  • Supervise, lead and direct Cage related activities, ensuring all regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise cashier and banker professionals, performing activities such as hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and administering disciplinary actions.
  • Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of areas of responsibility through assigned department heads and supervisors.
  • Ensure employees are trained to work safely and efficiently within current regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate shift schedules and adjust as necessary.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit essential paperwork and reports.
  • Monitor cash levels in all Cage locations.
  • Oversee assigned shift’s paperwork and conduct investigations of variances.
  • Ensure accurate paperwork is completed for all functions, including end of shift balancing.
  • Ensure continuous guest service at the cashier cages, banks, and ticket redemption units (TRUs).
  • Resolve associate and patron related disputes in a professional manner.
  • Attend periodic meetings and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate and provide outstanding customer and employee relations at all times.
  • Present oneself in a neat and clean appearance at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a high school or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
  • Associate’s Degree in Business or closely related field OR Three (3) years’ experience in a Supervisory position or equivalent OR Two (2) years’ management experience in the hiring position’s Department.
  • Five (5) years’ related work experience in a cash handling setting required.
  • Three (3) years’ related experience in a Casino Cage setting preferred.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively address all levels within the organization.
  • General business and accounting knowledge with broad knowledge of casino, slot, rules, regulations, procedures and administration is preferred.
  • Ability to perform each job responsibility satisfactorily.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Varied instances of standing/walking.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Fluency in English required, second language a plus.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
