About the Role
The Product Compliance Engineer ensures Qualitrol's Service platform and associated products meet global regulatory, safety, and cybersecurity requirements throughout the product lifecycle. This role integrates product safety engineering, cybersecurity compliance, and regulatory leadership into the development process, partnering with internal teams and external agencies to accelerate commercialization while upholding high standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead compliance with applicable standards and certifications, including: UL, CSA, Intertek, TÜV, IEC, IEEE, CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS, REACH
- Support product certification and regulatory approvals
- Implement Secure Development Lifecycle practices
- Manage vulnerability assessment and remediation
- Partner with Product Engineers and DevOps to embed compliance requirements throughout development
- Develop compliance roadmaps for new products and analytics services
- Maintain awareness of emerging regulations affecting industrial platforms and connected devices
- Participate throughout product development by reviewing product requirements, performing design reviews, conducting risk assessments, supporting verification activities, and coordinating certification testing
- Ensure compliance activities do not become launch bottlenecks
- Develop repeatable compliance processes supporting rapid product releases while maintaining regulatory confidence
- Introduce AI-assisted compliance workflows where appropriate to improve efficiency and documentation quality
Requirements
- 8+ years of product compliance engineering experience
- Strong understanding of IEC/EN 61000 EMC and IEC/UL 61010 safety standards
- Experience with industrial electronics
- Experience working directly with UL, TÜV, Intertek or equivalent certification agencies
- Strong understanding of functional safety and product cybersecurity
- Experience supporting global product launches
