About the Role

Security Officers protect client properties against threats such as fire, vandalism, and illegal entry. This role involves monitoring cameras and alarms, dispatching calls, and providing assistance to employees and guests. The successful candidate will be a problem solver with critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor cameras and alarms, dispatching associated calls via telephone and radio.
  • Provide general assistance to employees and guests.
  • Monitor various tools to identify threats and/or risks to the organization.
  • Coordinate response to life safety incidents and dispatch appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain records of communications and events.
  • Manage and handle sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality and information security.
  • Conduct investigative video reviews and report findings.
  • Assist in conducting investigations and update requestors promptly.
  • Document reported incidents and notify appropriate parties.
  • Ensure all systems within the CTC are functioning properly and report deficiencies.
  • Coordinate the response of on-site security personnel using surveillance tools.
  • Proactively monitor weather phenomena that can cause damage or threats.
  • Collect real-time information and alert relevant offices during police or fire emergencies.
  • Maintain situational awareness during civil demonstrations.
  • Manage and prioritize employee security concerns.
  • Conduct routine alarm testing and remote audits.
  • Maintain daily logs and prepare required reports.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to type at least 45 wpm.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook.
  • Valid Driver's License.

  • 24/7 operations center on a designated shift

Experience Level

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a physical Security Operations Center (SOC), a GSOC, or experience in security and/or law enforcement positions or dispatch centers (preferred).
  • 1 year of related experience in crisis management, physical security, critical infrastructure protection, risk controls, or loss prevention.
  • Experience in alarm monitoring.
  • Prior camera and/or alarm integrator experience (a plus).

Education Level

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Associate's and/or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in an area of study relevant to this position (i.e., Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, etc.)
