About the Role
Albany Gastroenterology Consultants, partnered with Allied Digestive Health, seeks Full-Time and Part-Time Medical Office Assistants to join their team in Albany, NY. This role involves supporting patient care in a collaborative environment and managing administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with nurses to care for patients in a team environment.
- Report directly to nursing coordinator.
- Retrieve and respond to patient voicemails.
- Retrieve and respond to patient secure messages.
- Generate tasks to nurses for voicemails or secure messages that cannot be responded to.
- Schedule appointments including office visits, referrals, imaging studies, and lab work.
- Handle prior authorizations for imaging studies, medications, and lab studies.
- Generate and send result letters or portal messages to patients.
- Enter recalls for office appointments, imaging studies, and procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Basic computer competency.
- Commitment to confidentiality and respect.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Medical office experience preferred (1+ year).
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer knowledge.
