Responsibilities

  • Answer, record, log, and process all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns.
  • Operate telephone switchboard station and process guest requests for wake-up calls, screening calls, do not disturb, call forwarding, conference calls, TDD relay calls, and non-registered guest calls.
  • Advise guests of received messages, monitor busy or unanswered lines, and update callers on hold.
  • Receive, record, and relay messages accurately, completely, and legibly.
  • Activate/deactivate guest room message lights.
  • Instruct guests on internet access and transfer them to provider support when necessary.
  • Respond to special requests from guests with unique needs.
  • Contact appropriate individuals or departments to resolve guest issues.
  • Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with resolved requests or problems.
  • Dispatch bell staff, valet staff, and shuttle services as needed.
  • Answer calls within 3 rings.
  • Educate incoming callers on hotel amenities and services.

Requirements

  • Focus and maintain attention to tasks, completing work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions.
  • Possess a high work ethic and self-initiative.
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods (6-8 hours a day).
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills for keyboarding, mouse use, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds.
  • Visual ability to read computer screens and printed materials, including close visual focus and color differentiation.
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, and use phone/headset.
