About the Role
Assist and support the assigned functions of the warehouse department.
Responsibilities
- Remove bands and tops from bulk totes or other vessels.
- Break down bulk totes.
- Prepare pallets of broken-down totes for return to vendor.
- Place scrap in proper receptacles and dispose as needed.
- Stack and wrap all totes by vendor for return rail car loading.
- Ensure safe use of the Lift Assist.
- Inspect all raw materials stored in the Warehouse every 30 days.
- Ensure all materials are stored correctly and are free of debris or contamination.
- Document all findings and alert appropriate personnel of any deficiencies.
- Assist in all other Warehouse responsibilities or special projects when needed.
- Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Backup UPS Clerk when needed.
Requirements
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots).
- Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions, and reasoning.
- Ability to use various equipment (knife, band cutters, vacuum lift).
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors.
- Ability to work in a loud environment with hot/cold, wet/dry conditions.
- Ability to perform lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending.
