About the Role

As a QA Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in functional and automated quality assurance to collaborate with development teams, ensuring product success. You will review requirements, designs, and user stories to create effective testing strategies, combining a QA mindset with technical insight to understand product behavior and underlying code.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a quality product with your development team.
  • Analyze requirements to design a comprehensive test framework supporting automation and functional testing.
  • Create detailed test plans and test cases.
  • Implement, run, maintain, and report on automation testing.
  • Review the behavior and quality of other team members' automation code.
  • Provide input on product quality needs based on knowledge and experience.
  • Set up testing environments for test execution.
  • Test against requirements and acceptance criteria using scripted, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Report and track bugs using Jira.
  • Advocate for quality best practices within your development team.
  • Align with QA Specialists from other teams to support departmental quality improvement.
  • Create supporting QA documentation.
  • Validate front-end, API, and data flows as part of a full stack quality approach.
  • Assist with upskilling team members to drive knowledge within the team.
  • Promote Accuro's "Blue Culture" framework.
  • Contribute to the organization's positive image.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your manager.

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of total experience in software quality assurance, software development, or a combination of both.
  • ISTQB Software Tester Certification Foundation Level.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles (manual and automated).
  • Proficiency in testing both front-end and back-end components.
  • Experience with UI testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
  • Understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and ability to validate data integrity.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to write and maintain test scripts in languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.
  • Ability to create and maintain Test Cases in a centralized test case management tool such as AIO Tests.
  • Experience in testing across desktop, web and mobile applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience in high data security/privacy environments.
  • Experience with Atlassian products; Jira and Confluence an asset.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with performance & load testing tools (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret existing codebases to identify opportunities for implementing effective test automation.
  • Experience with Data Integrity & Security testing.
  • Product Knowledge in any of QHR's main products.
  • Experience in design, development and implementation of a Quality Assurance Strategy.
