About the Role
HMH is a leading provider of behavioral health services for New York City’s Asian community. The Assistant Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services will oversee daily operations of one of the House’s largest divisions, supervise program managers, ensure high-quality direct services, manage and coordinate the community behavioral health delivery system, oversee government contracts, and collaborate with finance and operations staff. This role involves strategic thinking to enhance programs and generate revenue, reporting directly to the Executive Director and serving as a key member of the senior management team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee behavioral health programs at multiple locations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Perform regulatory and compliance functions to ensure adherence to City/State/Federal requirements, including OMH, OASAS, and Medicaid standards.
- Lead program expansion, service redesign, grant development, and new initiatives to address emerging community needs.
- Provide clinical supervision and consultation, including intervention in high-risk/urgent situations, to ensure safe and clinically sound mental health services.
- Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices across programs and services.
- Represent the agency at community events and build/maintain partnerships with nonprofit organizations, community stakeholders, and service providers.
- Develop division goals that support the House’s overall strategic goals and direction, and lead staff in achieving these goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of work experience managing community mental health counseling programs or clinical services in NYS.
- Familiarity with NYS behavioral health service systems, City/State/Federal regulatory requirements, and OMH/OASAS/Medicaid standards.
Skills
- Expertise in program management, strategic planning, community health initiatives, and clinical supervision.
- Strong skills in CBT/DBT/person-centered treatment modalities.
- New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
