About the Role

The Patient Coordinator will provide outstanding care and support to patients and physicians, ensuring a professional and courteous patient flow. This role involves managing patient data, scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Check patients in/out upon arrival and/or departure.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality throughout all transactions.
  • Update, file and maintain the integrity of all patient data.
  • Request and follow up on patient records from referring physician offices.
  • Forward medical records to requesting physicians.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Verify patient insurance information, prior authorization, and collect payments.
  • Scan patient data into the NextGen EMR system.
  • Check patients in for clinical staff.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and make outbound calls to confirm appointments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of HIPAA compliance and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Healthcare setting.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and follow through skills.
  • Ability to interact with team members in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Proficiency and working knowledge of medical software applications, e.g. EMR, as well as Microsoft Office Applications.
  • A valid State of Georgia Driver's License and reliable transportation is required.
  • This position requires a substantial amount of standing, sitting, and working at a computer station throughout the day.
  • Must be flexible and available to work at different locations throughout Georgia Urology.
