About the Role
Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver vital support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools, helping them address communication difficulties and reach academic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to create a significant impact by engaging with students with varied communication requirements in school environments and utilizing evidence-based methods.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, according to their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Develop and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
- Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.
Requirements
- Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
- NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start.
- Resume and relevant NYS license/certification.
- Proof of your ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
