About the Role

Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver vital support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools, assisting them in developing communication abilities and overcoming communication difficulties to reach academic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by engaging with students with varied communication needs in school environments and utilizing evidence-based methods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in individual and group settings, according to their IESP/IEP.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Develop and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes.
  • Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
  • NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start.
  • Submit resume and relevant NYS license/certification.
  • Include (or note readiness to obtain) NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status.
  • Proof of ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
