About the Role
The People & Culture Operations Coordinator optimizes P&C processes and service delivery to enhance the employee experience throughout the employee life cycle. Reporting to the Supervisor-Generalist, this role provides direct support to staff across recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, training, and legislative compliance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff onboarding and pre-employment background checks
- Support hiring managers with job postings, screening calls, and reference checks
- Liaise with departments regarding onboarding, offboarding, and internal processes
- Facilitate staff adherence to P&C policies and employment legislation
- Provide technical support for the HRIS system (BambooHR)
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, benefits records, and employee files
- Draft P&C communications and employment contracts
- Deliver benefits orientation sessions
- Process benefits enrolments, coverage changes, and terminations
- Coordinate P&C staff events and feedback surveys
- Advance YSM values, diversity, equity, inclusion, and Biblical foundations
- Create and edit confidential P&C materials and conduct research
- Serve as a representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Support P&C projects and initiatives
Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or Psychology
- 2-3 years of HR experience
- Working knowledge of HR management functions and processes
- Familiarity with Ontario Employment Standards Act, AODA, OHSA, and Ontario Human Rights legislation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive client service orientation
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality, tact, and empathy
- Strong project coordination and time management skills
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments
- Awareness of equity, inclusion, and diversity issues
