About the Role

Ghirardelli is seeking Retail Hourly Associates to merchandise, stock, and provide excellent guest service while selling their premium chocolate line. This role is crucial for maintaining brand image and providing a world-class guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise and stock products.
• Provide excellent guest service.
• Sell premium chocolate line.
• Represent the company image correctly.
• Perform cashiering duties.
• Perform candy making duties.
• Stock merchandise.
• Perform pre-packing duties.
• Perform fountain duties.
• Manage cash handling and credit card processing.
• Assemble proprietary retail items per recipe guidelines.
• Maintain adequate stock of retail products on the sales floor and in back stock.
• Ensure all products are appropriately priced and signed.
• Maintain sales floor and products to company standards of cleanliness, arrangement, and display.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of all products, pricing, and company history.
• Utilize product and pricing knowledge to satisfy guest inquiries and create up-sell opportunities.
• Gift-wrap items for sale.
• Follow food safety guidelines and maintain clean and sanitary conditions.
• Keep fountain and condiment supplies stocked and in good condition.
• Maintain the stockroom in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Clean windows and mirrors.
• Maintain guest and employee washing facilities.
• Set up, maintain, and break down the fountain area.
• Replenish toppings and fountain items.
• Minimize food waste.
• Maintain the proper level of all required ice cream flavors.
• Keep knowledge current of all fountain products and their required preparation.
• Work as a 'Topper' or 'Scooper'.
• Perform 'Semi-Table Service' function.
• Maintain candy making equipment and supplies.
• Know all candy making recipes.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• High Energy.
• Reliable.
• Strong Work Ethic.
• Able to work all shifts including nights and weekends.
• Previous retail experience is desirable.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Ability to work with a diverse work team and meet adversity with professionalism.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Ability to maintain a smile, pleasant demeanor and provide superior guest service.
• Ability to operate a dishwashing machine.

Skills

• Basic math computation skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
