About the Role
This is a great entry-level position to start your career as a diesel truck mechanic. Learn from industry experts and advance your career with industry-leading trucks, technology, and tools. As a Diesel Technician III, you will perform minor component repair or replacement and assist with major component repairs under the direction of a lead technician or supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Remove, replace, or adjust brakes (air and hydraulic), fifth wheel, minor electrical repairs, cab components and accessories, and minor trailer maintenance such as doors and wheel seals with some supervision.
- Perform all aspects of preventive maintenance on vehicles as trained.
- Perform other mechanical repairs and replacements as directed/assisted by Technician I, II, Lead Technician, or Supervisor as part of overall training.
- Handle all customer service duties as necessary.
- Pick up and deliver vehicles.
- Maintain work area appearance and safety.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
- Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Some mechanical or vehicle maintenance experience.
