About the Role

The server/floor lead must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress. Japanese cuisine experience is a plus. Previous fine dining/upscale experience is ideal but not required. Cleanliness, organization and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position. Must have lunch and dinner availability.

Responsibilities

• Enter orders into POS systems.
• Knowledge of the menu, with ability to make suggestions.
• Knowledge of omakase-style environment, sake and wine.
• Run food to tables and assist wherever needed.
• Check back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Collect and process payment in a timely manner.
• Complete side work and other projects assigned by management.
• Excellent communication skills with management, chefs, and fellow team members.
• Ability to work in a team environment, with great enthusiasm and energy.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a server in a high-end full-service restaurant.
• Knowledge of Japanese cuisine required.
• Knowledge of sake and wine required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Valid California ServSafe Food Handler Certification
• Valid Responsible Beverage Service Certification
