About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift/Crane Operator to support the Annealing department. This role involves leading daily department operations, managing material flow, and safely moving materials with a forklift and/or crane to set up furnaces and coolers. The operator will collaborate with crew members to ensure work is completed safely, meeting quality expectations and productivity demands.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols for forklift and crane operations.
  • Complete and log daily equipment inspections.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move and stage materials.
  • Support production by emptying scrap tubs and clearing finished products.
  • Assist with marking picklists, aligning orders per machine, and managing scrap hoppers.
  • Lead by example and support team development in crane operations and annealing processes.
  • Identify problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Take ownership of mill operations and contribute to team success.
  • Utilize Oracle or similar systems for tracking and documentation.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives using daily transformation tools.
  • Maintain a high attendance rate and demonstrate flexibility in daily assignments.
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support overall facility productivity.
