About the Role

This role functions as a quality control and quality assurance engineer within the substation quality management group. You will perform QA/QC of substation design packages, including physical design and protective relaying/control, while collaborating with the substation design team to ensure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and company policies.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with the company quality program and support continuous improvement and change management.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables, research equipment/materials, and manage data for engineering work.
  • Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Manage assigned budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Delegate tasks to team members, review work, and lead production teams or coordinate multidisciplinary activities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external team members on complex projects.
  • Identify client interests and drivers on high voltage substation projects and develop approaches to accommodate them.
  • Support business development and pursuit activities.
  • Provide consultation and guidance as a technical specialist on complex technical challenges.
  • Foster knowledge management and mentor lower-level professionals.
  • Assist with performance management, career planning, and learning and development.
  • Assist with resource management strategy and oversee small groups within a discipline.
  • Handle administrative tasks including policy implementation, adherence to corporate programs, and approval of timesheets and expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including background checks and drug screens.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
  • Experience with Substation QA/QC reviews.
  • Experience in substation design including physical and/or protection and controls.
  • Experience coordinating and communicating with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers.
