About the Role

The Staff Data Scientist will own critical model systems end-to-end for Engine by MoneyLion, focusing on real-time recommendations, dynamic pricing, and marketplace optimization. This role bridges advanced machine learning with tangible business outcomes by collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive revenue and enhance user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop production ML models for real-time recommendations, pricing, and conversion prediction.
• Design and manage feature pipelines and data transformations using tools like dbt, Airflow, and SQL.
• Lead the design, execution, and analysis of large-scale A/B tests.
• Translate complex business problems into well-scoped data science projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain ML models in production.
• Drive team best practices in model development, code quality, and documentation.
• Contribute to the evolution of the MLOps platform and model lifecycle management.
• Present findings and strategic recommendations to executive and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and data engineering.
• Experience designing and shipping production ML models using Python and SQL.
• Experience building real-time ML systems for recommendations, pricing, or bidding.
• Proficiency with data warehouse technologies like Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Experience managing data pipelines with dbt, Airflow, or Spark.
• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and experiment design.
• Experience with ML platforms such as SageMaker, Spark, Ray, or MLflow.
• Software engineering proficiency including Python, Scala, or Java, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
