About the Role
Shape and deliver global network platforms that enable millions of customers and colleagues to connect and collaborate. Define engineering strategy, lead multi-faceted cross-domain projects end to end, and elevate engineering standards to provide resilient, compliant, and scalable services across data center, core, campus, branch, and edge environments. Production Network Engineering is responsible for the design, build, and operation of strategic network infrastructure platforms and the connectivity products and services that run on them. Collaborate closely with architecture, security, operations, and product teams to drive modernization, embed automation and DevOps practices, and strengthen operational integrity through predictable delivery and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technology.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions.
- Identify appropriate technologies and solutions to meet business requirements.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify and resolve issues.
- Drive down mean time to resolution using data.
- Develop and implement automated tasks and processes.
- Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
- Contribute to the organization's technology communities.
- Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
- Plan resources, budgets, and policies.
- Manage and maintain policies and processes.
- Deliver continuous improvements.
- Escalate breaches of policies and procedures.
- Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organization functions.

- Lead complex network projects end to end (design, build, governance, and in-life ownership).
- Drive automation and DevOps practices.
- Lead high-risk change and act as a senior escalation point during critical incidents.
- Coach and mentor engineers through technical leadership and standards adoption.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise across enterprise networking fundamentals (routing and switching) and platforms spanning core, edge, data centre, campus, branch, WAN, and wireless domains.
- Proven ability to lead complex network projects end to end across technologies such as MPLS/EVPN, SD WAN, wireless, internet edge, and DDI.
- Considerable engineering ownership mindset, including service health, reliability improvements, technical debt reduction, and disciplined documentation and standards.
- Experience driving automation and DevOps practices (Infrastructure as Code, configuration validation, CI/CD patterns).
- Ample change, risk, and control governance capability.
- Knowledge of IoT protocols: MQTT, Zigbee, BACnet, CoAP – including vertical mesh networking and RF signal optimization across concrete/steel floors.
- Experience partnering closely with architecture, security, operations, and product management.
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
- Considerable problem-solving orientation with a focus on continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organization functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
