About the Role

We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead software development efforts, focusing on RF design and SW integration within avionics systems. This role involves working with defense customers and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in software development projects.
• Develop SW Requirements.
• Conduct Code Reviews.
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare Planning Documentation & Cert Docs.
• Develop Systems Documentation and perform systems testing.
• Maintain lab hardware, builds, and configurations.
• Ensure calibration dates on equipment are current.
• Coordinate with customers and ensure customer process compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide solutions.
• Interface with ISC, quality, shipping, and receiving departments.
• Manage customer and FAA interfaces.
• Understand safety protocols and aircraft interface/installation.
• Perform system integration.
• Manage Frequency Approval efforts.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of RF design and SW integration.
• Experience with leading teams.
• Experience with DO-178C.
• Experience with DO160G (EMI).
• Experience working in DAL A software development.
• Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles.
• Ability to manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively.
• Experience working with Defense Customers preferred.
• Flight test experience, including understanding aircraft wiring diagrams and system inputs for testing.
• Experience with engineering tools such as montpa and x-scribe.
• Experience with Jira and Bitbucket.
• Understanding of build processes and compiler settings.
• Systems engineer with a hardware focus.
• System test/hardware test experience.
• Test equipment knowledge.
