About the Role

As a Maintenance Planner/Parts Room Specialist, you will perform all maintenance planning and scheduling functions, support the management of the CMMS, and provide leadership to the stockroom and maintenance team. You will procure, account for, receive, and supply parts to the site, including planning and scheduling for plant equipment, facilities, and utilities. This role also involves assisting in assigned projects and covering supervisor absences.

Responsibilities

Manage Work Orders, work requests, and the preventative maintenance module, updating as required.
Work with the Maintenance Team to schedule and assign planned work orders.
Provide weekly reports of all work performed and download them into MP2 (CMMS).
Ensure all received documents of completed work orders are filed properly.
Schedule planned contractor work related to the facility and plant equipment.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures using a continuous improvement mindset.
Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory to ensure necessary rebuild items are available for preventive actions.
Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform, plan, and schedule required services.
Create and generate preventive maintenance actions in alignment with department managers and supervisors.
Maintain and update the MP2 program, including entering new equipment, locations, accounts, and facility members.
Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs, and food quality related to the designated area.
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
Prepare RFPs for spare parts, replenishment orders, and supplies.
Develop supplier scoring and bid lists to obtain competitive pricing/quotes.
Understand operational urgency and support production needs.
Be available off-hours for assistance in emergencies requiring rush orders.
Communicate with Maintenance Leadership any condition that prevents the manufacturing of products to establish standards.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate degree with at least 3 to 5+ years' experience in manufacturing and purchasing preferred.
5+ years' experience with MRP procurement, inventory control, and vendor selection criteria.
Experience working with outside vendors and contractors to direct their focus and attention to purchasing needs.
Experience working as a maintenance planner/scheduler.
Must be able to work in an environment with moderate to high noise volume.
Must be willing to work flexible shifts, daylight and off-shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The position will directly support preventive actions and the related documentation of a 24/7 plant operation.

Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and independently take appropriate preventive action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.
Ability to work in a team environment.
