About the Role
Structure Tone, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Night Site Safety Manager in New York City, NY. This role is responsible for implementing safety policies and procedures, monitoring the safety management system, and leading safety personnel.
Responsibilities
- Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Monitors effectiveness of the safety management system and progress against the Structure Tone safety Performance Standards.
- Leads and provides functional management for safety personnel.
- Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
- Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Ensures that there are appropriate processes in place for promptly alerting the business and STO to significant accidents and incidents.
- Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Produces safety management reports monthly, quarterly and annually on safety performance.
- Reviews accident and incident reports and investigation reports, identifies any trends and ensures that there is an appropriate response to prevent future recurrence.
- Regularly meets with safety personnel to monitor and review management of the function.
- Reports on safety performance for the business unit at management team meetings.
- Consults and liaises with Corporate Safety Director on the management of safety in the division/business unit.
Requirements
- NYC Licensed Site Safety Manager (SSM)/Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (CSFSM)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or related degree or equivalent work experience is required
- 10-20 years of general construction experience.
- OSHA 30 hour training required
