About the Role

The Texas Buildings practice is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex architectural projects in Austin, Texas. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, serving as a client advisor, and contributing to the growth of an integrated design practice. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and sound business judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple large, complex architectural projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, fostering strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with Principals-in-Charge on business development activities, client positioning, proposal preparation, interviews, and project pursuits.
  • Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and financial performance.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and owner representatives.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Ensure projects meet client goals for program, budget, schedule, quality, and design intent.
  • Facilitate project meetings, owner meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and construction progress meetings.
  • Manage contract administration, including change orders, additional services, applications for payment, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Stantec's Project Management Framework and quality management processes.
  • Work closely with Operations and Practice Leadership to forecast staffing needs and allocate project resources.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and emerging professionals while fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Keep the Principal-in-Charge informed of project status, key decisions, financial performance, and client issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project closeout activities, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
