About the Role

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our platform and related services. Review code, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing to the technical vision. Build and maintain tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and security. Address technical debt and drive improvements in development processes. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members. Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain backend Java services independently using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
Develop backend data storage system design.
Build and maintain unit tests and integration tests, engaging with test automation tools and frameworks.
Support good SDLC practices, utilize version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
Triage and patch backend service issues.
Utilize microservices, event-driven architecture, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Requirements

3+ years of software development experience.
Proficiency in Java and strong working experience with Python.
Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Experience designing and delivering RESTful APIs and microservices.
Strong experience with ETL processes, data integration, and data pipeline development.
Working knowledge of Docker and modern CI/CD practices.
Experience managing software projects in an Agile environment.
Strong understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, secure coding practices, and production operations.
Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and maintaining highly available production environments.
Ability to independently manage projects, including requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and client communication.
Excellent communication, collaboration, client-facing, and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience managing full-stack teams (frontend + backend) preferred.
Background in fintech, enterprise SaaS, or other regulated technology environments preferred.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure preferred.
